1.How much sun does the spot get?
Stand there mid-afternoon in summer. Direct sun most of the day is full sun.
2.How much room is there — overhead and to the sides?
Look up for wires and out for the house, drive and property line.
3.What's the ground like?
Most of central Missouri is heavy clay. If water stands after a rain, say wet.
4.What do you want the tree to do?
Pick the main job. We can talk about the rest in the yard.
5.How fast do you need it to fill in?
Fast growers get there sooner; slower trees usually live longer and hold up better in storms.
